410L Laser Cladding
An economical build-up alloy that does not crack after cladding and machines easily. Provides basic atmospheric corrosion protection.
Low-carbon martensitic stainless (~12.5% Cr)
What this alloy is for
An economical build-up alloy that does not crack after cladding and machines easily. Provides basic atmospheric corrosion protection.
Strength
Where it is strong
- Low carbon content keeps post-cladding cracking risk low
- Easy to turn and grind
- Effective against atmospheric corrosion and light wear
Application
Typical applications
- Restoring worn large shafts to original dimension
- Bearing seats and fitting surfaces
- Renewal of rolls and cylindrical surfaces
Limit
Limitations
- Not sufficient for heavy wear or aggressive corrosion; 420, Rockit 401 or Inconel 625 is preferred there
Alloy selection is made per part. Even on the same component the right alloy changes when operating conditions change. The quotation states which alloy was selected and why. All alloys →
